
The Agri-Business Unit of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) launched its maiden tomato produce on Tuesday 24th September, 2024, calling also, on the university community for their patronage.
The launching took place at the instance of the presentation of some packs of the recently harvested products by the Agri-Business’ Farm supervisor, Dr. Samuel Abanigbe, to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof Abiodun Denloye in his office. Dr. Abanigbe explained that the tomato’s contents are 100 per cent organic, and are of the special cobra variety with a unique property of extreme redness when completely ripe.
Speaking further, he noted that the tomatoes were planted in batches, and so, the harvest would be in batches as first set of harvest kicked off yesterday.
With a reduced rate of 3,000 naira for 3.5kg, he advised prospective buyers to book in advance as sales would be based on demand, noting that all payments must be made to the school account.
